Why Study in Frankfurt
Tina Tokic
From the beginning, I felt taken seriously as a student and welcomed into a small, supportive academic community. The close contact with professors makes studying here feel engaging rather than anonymous.

The American Studies program is housed in the historic IG Farben building in the beautiful Westend neighborhood in Frankfurt, fifteen minutes away from the city center.

Take part in a robust and supportive international learning community and study at a world-class research university: on its campuses around the city, Goethe University offers nearly its 48,000 students a community to learn, grow, and connect. Goethe University is an international university with about 8,000 foreign students.

About 30% of the students in the American Studies department are international students.

The International Office offers support for social services for new students from abroad. If you have issues with visa, residence permit, and health insurance, you can contact their services. Goethe University also provides free German language classes for beginners and advanced German speakers. The Writing Center supports students in academic writing.

The GRADE academic training service provides a platform for doctoral education and research support. Further, several writing centers support students drafting and completing writing assignments.
