If you are interested in the United States of America, the B.A. American Studies is for you! We cover U.S. culture, literature, and history, from the colonial era to today, from poetry to television, from video games to Moby Dick—and we’re one of the few American Studies departments in Germany to have this range. Our program foregrounds skills in critical reading, writing, and thinking, in research and complexity management. It prepares you for a wide variety of career paths, including master’s degrees in the humanities and a wide variety of jobs in which ideas and content matter.
