This program is highly conducive to students blending their own interests with academic pursuits.
Fully Booked

The American Studies Book Club „Fully Booked“ brings you in contact with your peers and your professors in the department. We discuss one classic and one recent novel every semester in an open and welcoming setting.

Chaincourt Theater

The Chaincourt Theater is the student theater company of the Institute of English and American Studies. Every semester, the group produces one play.

IEAS Literary Journal

The IEAS Literary Journal, composed by student editors, publishes at least one annual issue of creative writing done by and for you and your fellow students.

Adapting Lovecraft

Adapting Lovecraft is a website, run by Tim Lanzendörfer and Max Dreysse, both from American Studies in Frankfurt, that is constantly looking for student authors. If you are interested in the works of H.P. Lovecraft, and specifically the numerous adaptations of his work across different media, maybe you want to write for it—you could even obtain credit in your B.A. program for doing it!
